Spain's
fifth largest city, historic Malaga is a major Mediterranean port and
one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the country. A fascinating city,
steeped in a rich and colourful history, Malaga offers a taste of the
real Spain. For this taste its worth going to see the Roman amphitheatre,
the beautiful city cathedral or the Alcazaba fortress and Gibralfaro castle.
For the art lovers there is the Pablo Picasso museum.
This is fitting as Pablo Picasso was born in Malaga. This city remains
largely untouched by mass tourism and, despite a large number of foreign
residents, retains its original character. Malaga airport is also the
gateway to the Costa del Sol with year-round flights from all over Europe. With plans to expand its habours and a wave of environmentalism, Malaga is set to become a major Mediterranean hub.
